The Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability (LBF) in Germany is a globally renowned industry leader, especially in in-depth research on the structural stability of wheels. Since the early 1980s, the LBF has successfully developed the dual-axis fatigue testing technology for wheels (ZWARP), which has become the global standard for simulating working loads in laboratories. The hardware of its testing platform and load files were invented and developed by the Fraunhofer Institute LBF. This institute is dedicated to durability and fatigue research and is now widely adopted by many manufacturing companies such as Porsche, BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen, Ferrari, Maserati, Volvo Cars, MAN, Volvo Trucks, Daimler Trucks, and numerous leading wheel manufacturers.

The Fraunhofer Institute LBF provides the most comprehensive services for research and contract testing and possesses the largest number of laboratory testing equipment globally. The accelerated load files developed by LBF specifically for the dual-axis testing platform effectively support load simulation based on load spectra. Therefore, based on our analysis of a reasonable number of test objects, the complete service life of a product, originally spanning 12 to 18 years, can be simulated in just a few days.

In addition to complying with LBF and OEM standard testing specifications, the Fraunhofer Institute LBF also supports choosing the most effective testing solutions based on individual customer needs. Customers can also use highly complex procedures, including dual-axis flat-track measurements, strain gauge applications, pre-damage caused by curbs, and fatigue analysis using tire models and damage accumulation calculations.

Over the past thirty years, the Fraunhofer Institute LBF has continuously developed and improved the entire ZWARP technology, serving clients across major countries worldwide. Our services include customizing testing platforms and load files, comprehensive user training, and complete technical integration projects, all aimed at ensuring smooth operations for our clients.
